Founder of First Signs, Samaira Contractor is an enthusiastic student at Aditya Birla World Academy in Mumbai, where her academic interests lie in Psychology, Biology, and Chemistry. Samaira is especially drawn to questions around community health and wellbeing and the decisions people make about their own care.
Beyond the classroom, Samaira is a classical dancer who began ballet at the age of three and has trained in classical and modern dance ever since. She has also served as House Captain, sitting on the Student Council and working closely with its members to plan school events and recruit participants for competitions. She is also a member of the school robotics team, where she works on programming, leads social media, and supports fundraising.
These experiences gave her the confidence to build something of her own. First Signs was born from that, a project built on the belief that understanding your own health should not depend on what you can afford. Through it, she hopes to share what she knows and to stand alongside women who are too often left out of conversations about their own health, so that they can make informed decisions with confidence.
